The Alarm Settings are the timings, levels and communication paths set on the Web. When an Alarm setting is breached, an Alert is raised that is sent either by SMS, e-mail or telephone voice call to all nominated contacts for that particular Alert.
The sophisticated nature of the Alarm Settings web page allows users to, for example, have low level alerts sent to one person by SMS, whereas a higher level Alert (fire, flood etc.) can be sent to all contacts by all communication styles (SMS. e-mail and voice call to landlines).
Alarm settings can only be established or changed by a high level user. Some people in the User's Contact List may be designated to receive Alerts, but will not be authorised to change the settings.
